Over a 50-year period, Stephen Williams has established a unique record of achievement in conceptualisation, planning, management, and the development of a diverse range of projects.

Stephen commenced his career as the first planner for the Mundaring Shire in Western Australia. In 1974, he became the founding Managing Director of Hassell Planning Consultants. The firm quickly gained recognition as one of Australia’s leading practices.

From 1984 to 1990, Stephen focused on initiating major ventures, including the Melbourne Central mixed-use development, the 120 Collins Street office tower, and the utilisation of the Russian Zenit Rocket for a satellite launch facility.

In 1990, Sekisui House, the world's largest builder of dwellings, entered the Australian industry in 2009 and invited Stephen to be its Executive Director during its formative years.
